The Siegrist Star
Week of November 7, 2022
LA LA LA LA LAAAAAA
Siegrist is very proud to announce that three 4th grade students have been selected to sing in the
2023 MMEA All-State Children’s Choir. Congratulations to Hope Murray, Brooklyn Srock and Lucy Wright. Also pictured is Mrs. Burnett, Siegrist Music Teacher and Mrs. Sutton, Siegrist Principal.
The Missouri All-State Children’s Choir will perform at the 85th Annual Missouri Music Educators Association (MMEA) Conference on January 25, 2023 at the Tan-Tar-A Conference Center. The performance is free and open to the public.
The MMEA Conference is a nationally recognized professional development event. In 2019, the conference featured 33 student ensembles, 65 sessions, 3,600 registrants and total foot traffic of more than 10,000 people. This conference brings music educators and students performing at all levels together to enjoy music.
THANK YOU SIEGRIST FAMILIES!
What a great week full of activities inside the classroom and throughout our school. It was so great to see so many of you during Parent Teacher Conferences. Conference time is such a special time where we can sit together and talk about your awesome and unique child. Thank you for all you do in partnering with us. By working together we can ensure greater success for your student and ALL Siegrist leaders.
This past week teachers shared feedback with families about student learning and student goals. Now it's your turn... WE WANT YOUR FEEDBACK! Please Complete the Parent Survey by Dec. 4
Platte County School District's annual parent survey allows us to gather feedback on strengths of the district, as well as areas to consider for growth. Your input is important and will be considered when making future decisions.
If you have not already completed the survey during Parent/Teacher conferences, we ask that you complete the survey by clicking on the link below. If you have more than one student, please be sure to answer those questions for each building. The survey should take approximately fifteen minutes to complete.
All the best,
Mrs. Johna-Kaye Sutton
Fall 2022 Parent Survey:
The Platte County School District thanks you for participating in the following survey. Your feedback is very valuable to us and will be used to improve our programs. Please respond to the following questions below. Please answer only for the school(s) in which your child(ren) attend(s).
STEM Experiment
Double double, toil and trouble. Fall is such a fun time for students to really ignite their imaginations. Not only did Mrs. Simon's class imagine it, they actually mixed up some special potions.
The bubbling cauldron is a perfect STEM activity for the fall. Mrs. Simon's class experimented using different combinations of liquids and solids to brew up different states of matter. Students then recorded their combinations and the reactions it made.
Fall Party Time
Students enjoyed many activities and treats for the fall parties. Thank you PTA for our fall fun day!

Help Your Child Succeed In School
Partner with your child’s school
DID YOU KNOW?
Siegrist has both Fall and Spring conferences. Conferences were held this past Wednesday, Nov. 2 and Thursday, Nov. 3. If you did not schedule a conference please be proactive and partner with your child(ren’s) teacher for a conference. Conferences can be in person or virtual.
Positive message bus signs are in each of the school buses. October’s message was “You Matter!” and November’s message is “ Every Day….Every Grade…Every Student….Matters!” Positive bus signs rotate monthly.
Thank you for ensuring your child(ren) is at school. As you can see below all of the last three months were above the state goal of 90% of the students in attendance 90% of the time.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Continue to build a relationship with your child’s teachers….the entire staff are supporting students to help them achieve success.
Each student’s personal best looks different, don’t compare your child to another, or even children within the same household.
Student learning is a process, be patient and look for progress with your child’s learning. Students thrive on your interest, support and positive feedback.
Positive student-teacher relationships are necessary for student success.
Ask your student about his/her goals and inquire about their progress. Ask, “what can I do to help you achieve your goal?”
