Special Edition:Graduating Seniors
Need to Knows for Jefferson City High School 2020 Graduates
Senior year is a culmination of your early years of education. There are celebrations and memories made. Although we can be frustrated at loss of tradition, there is a lot to be happy for and to celebrate. This edition is special for seniors and your parents. The purpose of this newsletter is to provide answers, clarity, and resources as we all help you embark on your final week as a student at Jefferson City High School.
Mr. JC
Mr. JC is a male pageant that is a tradition here at JCHS. Student Council hosts this event.
Male students are selected to represent their teams and clubs in an evening of fun and bonding. The student participates in a humorous evening wear, swim wear, and talent performance to win the hearts of the audience.
We have an opportunity for JC Boys wishing to help us carry on our Mr. JC Pageant. Can't wait to see our #jchsjays talent. #mrjc #tradition #jaypride
In an effort to continue some of our traditions during this school closure, JCHS Student Council is holding the Marcullus Court process virtually.
Marcullus (Prom) court is a different experience than Homecoming and Winter Sports courts, because it has not always been connected to a dance. The history of the Marcullus court goes back further than JCHS Homecoming and Winter Sports courts.
For those that do not know, Marcullus is the name of our beloved yearbook at JCHS. Historically, Marcullus Queen was the senior girl that was chosen to be honored in the yearbook at the end of the school year. Our Marcullus court consists of just five girls voted in by the student body. The queen is decided by a panel of former Marcullus court members through an interview process.
The interviews of the top 5 will be held through a video conference and the Queen will be announced next week on JCHS Student Council Twitter and Instagram accounts: @JeffCityStuCo.
