We are happy to announce that we will begin to offer free tutoring before and after school beginning the week of March 20th, 2023.
We will host morning tutoring on Tuesdays in Room 301 with Mrs. Bray in the Annex from 7-8am. Although she is a math teacher, we will also have NHS students present to assist with tutoring both math and other subjects.
We will host after school tutoring on Wednesdays in the Library, with teacher supervision and the assistance of NHS students, from 3:20-4:20pm. Again, these students can tutor in multiple subjects based on subjects you requested assistance with when asked earlier this semester.
We are so grateful to our students and staff who have stepped up to help our school community.

Junior Testing
DCHS will begin in-person State Testing for Juniors with the ACT on Tuesday, April 4. This will be a virtual/remote day for all students other than juniors. Students with multiple day testing accommodations will test from April 4-6. Because of the length of the test, students are encouraged to have lunch/snacks for the break. The cafeteria will make box lunches at a cost of $3.45 for any student that orders one. Please complete this Google Doc to let us know if your student will order a lunch or bring their own. The form is due by 3:00 pm on Friday, March 24, to give us time to order box lunches. Exams cannot be taken remotely/at home.
Although this is a state exam, the ACT will still qualify for college entrance and is reportable to colleges through myACT. Students will be provided a myACT log in sheet before the exam. They will have until 3 days after the exam to complete the information and indicate colleges/universities to send scores. There is no cost for the exam and you do not have to register for it as juniors will be registered through the state.
Schedules with dates, times, and room numbers for exams will be posted when we return from Spring Break. More information will be available as we get closer to the exam dates. Please email robinbeam@dcsok.org with any questions or concerns.
Here are some things you will need to do/know for testing:
-
Cell phones and other devices are not allowed to be accessed during tests, so students will need to leave them at home or put them away (turned off) for the duration of the test including breaks. For the ACT, phones and other devices can be left with administrators in the Central Building.
-
Students should bring pencils to all exams. They should bring ACT-approved calculators and photo IDs to the ACT.
-
Students must bring their fully-charged school Chromebook. We will have a few Chromebooks to loan, but not enough for all juniors.
-
Students will be allowed to have snacks and drinks for the breaks during the ACT, but they will not be allowed to access them during the exam.
-
Students that complete the ACT in one day will be dismissed to leave campus after the exam is over. The regular ACT with writing exam should conclude around 1:00 pm. Students will need to return to class after all other state exams.
-
If your student attends Francis Tuttle, he/she will need to inform Francis Tuttle of any absences caused by testing.
College Fair
Meet admission representatives from up to 50 colleges and universities from across the country at GPACAC’s Oklahoma City Area College Fair on April 4 at 6 pm for free! Electronic student scanning will be available at the fair. Students should register for a barcode at www.strivefair.com. A barcode will be sent immediately via text and email. Deer Creek Communication Platform
Deer Creek School District is embarking on a new communication platform to include a Deer Creek App that is designed to enable parents, staff and students to stay informed and up-to-date on events, important issues, general information, emergency notifications and site based activities. The Deer Creek App will work conjointly with the SchoolMessenger App (registration only required one time) as a notification system. Once a parent has registered with the SchoolMessenger App, they will only need to use the Deer Creek App for all things Deer Creek!
