CDHE to offer additional COVID-19 vaccine clinics for children ages 5-11

(JOHNSON COUNTY, Kansas – Dec. 15) The Johnson County Department of Health and Environment is offering free COVID-19 vaccines at two newly scheduled clinics for children ages 5-11 years only. The vaccine clinics will be held from 8 – 11:30 a.m., Tuesday Dec. 21, and Tuesday, Dec. 28. Both clinics will be held at the Sunset Drive Office Building, 11811 S. Sunset Drive, Olathe.

No appointment is needed for these two clinics. Children must have a parent or guardian present.

Parents can save time in line by completing this form and bringing it to the clinic for their child’s first or second dose. Parents should also bring their child’s COVID-19 vaccination record card for the second dose.

“We encourage families to take advantage of this opportunity to get their children vaccinated. The Pfizer pediatric vaccine for children is safe and offers the best protection against symptomatic COVID disease,” said Dr. Sanmi Areola, JCDHE director.

First, second or booster vaccinations continue to be offered for adults and children by appointment at JCDHE’s Mission location. For more information go to jocogov.org/coronavirus.

The department's walk-in immunization clinic in Olathe will be closed on Dec. 21 and Dec. 28 due to these special vaccine clinics.
