Parent Input for 2018-19 Class Placements

Hard to believe, but it is the time of year we begin to collect parent input for the upcoming school year! Please fill out the Google Form to provide your input. This form is only for students who will be in Grades 1-5. The following considerations are made when making class placements:

  • Student's educational needs
  • Equalizing the numbers of students in ALL classes
  • Balancing the numbers of boys and girls
  • Balancing the ability levels and needs of classes
  • Family input
  • Legacy teacher (Based on the considerations above, we will place students with legacy teachers, as long as classrooms are balanced. This would also take into consideration returning and new students.)

Requests for specific teachers will NOT be honored.

We will not send home paper copies of the input form this year. All input must be submitted electronically, no later than Friday, May 11th.

Thank you!

The Counseling Connection

Please take a few minutes to look over Mrs. Trimmer's newsletter, and the awesome things kids have been learning about in guidance lessons throughout the month of March.

Our first round of STAAR testing is coming the week of April 10th. Testing can be stressful for students and parents sometimes too. :) This is a great article reminding parents how to help their kids prepare and celebrate. Remember, STAAR is just one measure. All we ask is that students try their best. Go Bobcats!!

PTO Purchase Spotlight

The PTO Purchase Spotlight this month highlights curriculum. We purchased every single 5th grader a book titled “Knots In My Yo-Yo String” by Jerry Spinelli. All 5th graders are required to read an autobiography, so new books were purchased as a result of the change in TEKS. Every 5th grade class each year will read this book, so it will benefit BCE for many years to come. The 5th graders this year really seemed to enjoy this book as the PTO generously received thank you letters from Ms. Runkle’s Rainbow’s 5th grade class.
