Brief Background
The 13th amendment abolished slavery in America and it was the first amendment of the Reconstructive amendments and it is also part of the Civil war Amendments
Why is it still important
The 13th amendment is still important because it got rid of the horrible periods in history where many people were taken from their homes and forced to work. Also because slavery was abolished it led to women being able to vote and civil right movement. Americas economy would be much much different even though it is already bad
