September in Review and Looking Ahead into October
Happy Fall Ya'll!
Fall Fest/PTG/Pumpkin Palooza- STUCO members will host a fun Fall Fest on 10/29 starting at 4:00. There will be games, snacks, and other activities for 25 cents. The PTG meeting will begin promptly at 5:00 in the conference room. Pumpkin Palooza starts at 5:30 and consists of pumpkin carving (bring your own pumpkins (pre-cleaned please), reading and math games, a book walk, and FREE food and drinks! We will have a special guest reader from Washington High School to end our evening with a spooky story outside next to our newly carved, lit pumpkins. There will also be a station to sign up for a free library card and information regarding the book mobile! Hope to see you there! Look for an informational flyer to be sent home in a few days.
Buddy Activity- Our first Buddy Activity was awesome. We took a whole school field trip to our safety locations off campus. Our students were absolutely amazing! For our first trip off campus as a whole school, we were highly impressed and pleased. Our next adventure off campus is Halloween! Students are invited to wear their costumes for a parade down to retirement center on Ozark Drive. We will begin our parade at 1:55. If you would like to see our students in the parade, please make your way to the retirement home by 1:50. We will not be collecting candy! This will be a reverse Trick or Treat for our kids. They will have cards and artwork to the retirement center residents. After our parade, we will head back to school for a quick snack and read aloud with our buddy class.
Penny War for United Way-STUCO collected a whopping $1,016.85!!! This is beyond AMAZING! We are incredibly proud of our community for collecting spare change to support United Way. Thanks to everyone for participating and being great givers.

October's Attendance Challenge- Classes will work hard to spell a Halloween phrase. Every day that a class has perfect attendance, they will put up a new letter. As classes complete and solve the phrase, they will earn a surprise from the office! Wonder who the first winner will be?!?!? Hint: there are 12 letters in this phrase
Family Pictures- Don't forget to send in a copy of your student and family. These can be emailed straight to me or sent in.
Menus- October's breakfast and lunch menu links are posted below. You can also find these on SDOW's website at http://www.washington.k12.mo.us/departments/food_services
Parent Teacher Conferences- Your child's teacher will be sending out correspondence regarding Parent Teacher Conferences on October 24th, from 1:00-7:00. This is the perfect time to meet with your child's teacher to discuss how your child is "Glowing and Growing"!
Parent Pickup Friendly Reminder- Students who are "car riders" need to be picked up no later than 2:50. We release students to the gym at 2:45 for dismissal and the doors open shortly after that. Since dismissal is going much faster than previous years, we appreciate your support in getting your child in a timely manner. Thanks in advance for your support.
Parent Survey- You are kindly being asked to give your feedback about Marthasville Elementary School's Culture. As part of our annual BSIP (Building School Improvement Plan), we are surveying parents, students, and staff 3 times a year to measure the effectiveness and growth of our Culture Goal: Increase Relationships Among Students, Staff, and Families by providing a safe, welcoming, and loving atmosphere through the use of Restorative Practices. You will only be asked questions regarding your opinion of the atmosphere and environment at Marthasville. Your answers are strictly confidential and will help Marthasville Staff and Administration make necessary improvements and changes to our school. Your feedback is valued and appreciated! Email addresses and names ARE NOT being collected. Please use the following link to access the survey. We kindly ask that each parent/guardian submit answers only once so we have valid, realistic data. This survey will close at midnight, October 10, 2019. Thanks in advance for your support and honesty!
