CVHS Weekly Update for May 25, 2020
A Message From Your Athletic Director
Thank you to all of the athletes and parents who dropped off athletic gear. Shout out to Mr. Lindsey, our equipment manager, for keeping our uniforms and gear in top notch shape. If you were unable to drop off your gear, please email Ms. Hudson to set up a time to drop off.
After much consideration and guidance from the CDC and NFHS, our district has released our Summer Athletic Department Guidelines Phase I, beginning June 1. All guidelines and documents have been shared with all coaches. It is not required of any student or staff to participate in summer activities; however, if you choose to participate the guidelines will need to be followed.
The safety of our coaches and athletes is our number one priority. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your head coach or to Ms. Hudson. Thank you.

Athletic Highlights
JV Boys Basketball Head Coach David Orona:
I would like to recognize this year's Freshmen Boys Basketball team for having an outstanding season by reaching and surpassing all of the team goals they had set and tried to reach before the season began. We learned a lot about being a team and playing as one, not relying on one or two players to do it all. Our strength was defense and shutting down our opponent's best player and their offense by putting full-court pressure on the ball. This style takes a lot of hard work and discipline and with this, they compiled a 16-1 record and became one of the best freshmen teams in the West Valley.
Girls Tennis Head Coach Colleen Whalen:
We played three matches before we had to shut it down. We were 3-0 overall!
- Maddie, Ellie, and Trisity all were 6-0. 3-0 in Singles and 3-0 in Doubles
- Rhea was 4-2 overall 1-2 in Singles and 3-0 in Doubles
- Amanda was 3-3 overall 2-1 in Singles and 1-2 in Doubles
It was a great start of the season! Hope everyone will come out next season because the girls will be ready to play for sure. Great job to all the girls...... Caelum, Sophie, Olivia, Marissa, Aggie, and Lorelai!

- school immunization awareness
- decorating and cleaning the school for events
- creating homeless packets for a local rescue center
- collecting holiday gifts for domestic violence survivors
- bell ringing for the Salvation Army
- creating visual arts for our medical heroes
- and collecting crutches for Africa.
