Governor's Scholarship Recognition
Congratulations to Eric, the valedictorian at the Ruthven-Ayrshire school, on being selected to attend the Governor's Scholarship Recognition Program. Eric selected his favorite teacher, Mrs. Beisell, to attend the event with him. Mrs. Biesell is the MS/HS Science Teacher at Ruthven-Ayrshire.
Congratulations to Emma, the valedictorian at the Graettinger-Terril school on being selected to attend the Governor's Scholarship Recognition Program. Emma selected her favorite teacher, Mr. Benedict, to attend the event with her. Mr. Benedict is the HS Science Teacher at Graettinger-Terril.
GT Middle School Geometry Projects
Graettinger-Terril 7th-grade students in Miss Zylstra's math class were using perimeter, area, and ratios to construct a playground to scale. Students also determined the cost of materials needed to complete the playground.
RA 5th Grade
These RA 5th-grade students built rockets in their vocational exploratory class.
For safety reasons, Mrs. Butler launched the rockets.
Students enjoyed watching their rockets blast-off in "space".
GT 8th Grade Social Studies
An activity planned by Mrs. Goodchild was to have the GT 8th-grade social studies class shared their knowledge of the Revolutionary War through similes. Notice the thinking and comparing in the student work! Great work!
Graettinger-Terril 4th Grade Math Houses
Mrs. Klepper's 4th-grade math students made houses with graph paper to share their knowledge of area and perimeter.
Star Wars Dodgeball
The third-grade students at Ruthven-Ayrshire enjoy playing the game of Star Wars Dodgeball in Mr. Swingens' P.E. class.
The RA 4th-grade students are writing alliteration poetry.

The GTRA Seniors visited the Iowa State Capitol building.
Visit with Senator
The seniors were able to talk with Senator David Johnson.
GTRA Juniors take part in the National History Day. The students researched, prepared exhibits, and were interviewed about their topic.
