Student Spotlight - Giselle Arroyo
Giselle Arroyo joined our scholars for the 2016-2017 school year and is excelling in her second year at Collin College- Spring Creek Campus. She is majoring in education and is aspiring to further her education in academic administration. She is currently working for Plano ISD for the K-5 afterschool program PASAR.
When Arroyo applied for the Hendrick Scholarship, she explained:
"I have learned to set high standards for myself. Being in the program would not be a right, but a privilege I would get to represent not only myself but the Hendrick scholars as well. My ambition for greatness and my constant efforts to be better would be a great reflection on how students with this scholarship should work like. The aspirations of becoming a better person for myself as well as for my family push me forward to keep studying and keep succeeding."
Now that Arroyo is fully immersed in the program, she was excited to share:
"It has been a blessing to be brought into a welcoming environment. Hendrick has helped me achieve not only academic goals, but has also encouraged me to grow as a young adult, and for that, I am thankful. I'd like to give a huge thank you to all of those who have helped bring about the Hendrick Scholarship Foundation. They have no idea how much it means to a scholar, to have the opportunity to attend college, with such an amazing support group. The Hendrick staff is not only my guidance, they are friends."
Thank you, Giselle. We are very proud of you. Good luck with the Spring semester!
