Prestwick STEM Academy
Prestwick Profile - Community Vol. 19
Happy New Year 2017
Thankfully the atmosphere I have the greatest pleasure to be a part of is Prestwick STEM Academy in LEISD. In bringing my "A game", it allows me to give my very best to those I love and care for. This extends to each and every student and families at Prestwick STEM Academy. Let's make 2017 our best and brightest year as we partner together to give students a top notch, quality school experience. This experience will hopefully ignite a passion for learning they carry with them for many years to come.

Spotlight on LEarning
Talk about wrapping up the semester! First, second, third and fourth grades traveled in many different ways around the world. Practicing using their research skills to find important information and then summarizing to present to others was a key area of growth. Also, having our community and families come in and present to groups about different countries was powerful. Mrs. Jones-Purvis had students earn a passport stamp, and the second grade team had students share their findings with first grade to build upon the knowledge they learned from their own research.
Middle school students prepared for comprehensive finals and finished up major projects to close out the semester! From art projects to poetry, students reflected, revised, and resubmitted work until all was done! Students were excited to chill out and relax at the end of semester celebrations and over the break!
Prestwick 6th Grade Lottery
Little Elm ISD will give parents two opportunities in January to attend a Mandatory Parent Meeting for the Prestwick Sixth Grade Lottery for the 2017-2018 school year.
Parents of current fifth grade students, who do not reside in the Prestwick school zone and are interested in applying for the upcoming lottery for sixth grade, must attend a parent meeting to have priority in the lottery draw. The lottery will only be open to current residents of Little Elm ISD and District employees.
Please note that ALL current Prestwick 5th graders will roll up to 6th grade and are NOT required to attend these meetings. For questions give our office a call at 972-947-9450
