Custodian Needed

Cooper Landing School is in desperate need of a custodian! The shift is 4 hours per day, 5 days per week and lasts through May 23. You get summers off (what a deal!) and start up again on August 2. You get 6 paid holidays, 2 weeks off at Christmas (unpaid), and spring break in March (unpaid). And the best part is the appreciation of staff and students who will be forever grateful for a clean, tidy school! You can also apply to be a substitute custodian and choose your work days.

If you are interested, please contact Tommy Gossard or Donna Tucker at the school. We can give you a tour and an idea of what the job entails. Call 907-595-1244 or email tgossard@kpbsd.k12.ak.us or dtucker@kpbsd.k12.ak.us.

Hope School Happenings

Hello Students and Parents,

We have a little more testing to complete and respectfully request that you refrain from picking up the students from Tuesday through Thursday during the remainder of this week. Once these last few test are completed, I think we will all be so very happy. They have been working hard.

In Mr. McKibben's room, the students have all been working on some very unique and interesting life size drawings of themselves. I entered the classroom to see their faces concentrating as their hands moved across their cardboard with intentional marks. They were really concentrating. Each one of them creating their own wonderful drawing and very original. Mr. McKibben's students are planting some seeds in hopes of selling some garden starts to raise money for the school. We are proud of them.

Shout out to Tahneta Stroh. She makes such wonderfully creative things at this school and I think we are all waiting for the final touches to the school bulletin board. Shout out to our MS/HS students for their hard work volunteering to assist with unloading and setting up for the Food Share. They are additionally working on a square for the Wagon Run quilt. I am waiting with anticipation to see the final product. Many of the students are working on the Wagon Run T-Shirt contest. Wishing them good luck on their entries.
