Estacada High School
Back to School Night
Monday, September 10th is Back to School Night for Estacada High School from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Visit your student's teachers and find out what learning goals they have for them this year. It's also a great time to open the line of communication and ask general questions of the curriculum. While time constraints will not permit this to be an evening for discussing individual student progress, our Parent/Teacher conferences coming up in November will provide plenty of opportunity for this purpose. We will also be serving up hot dogs in the commons area so grab a bite to eat. Looking forward to seeing you all.
2018-19 Student Handbook
Here is a link to the 2018-19 Estacada High School Student Handbook. These will be handed out to students next Wednesday.

Peer to Peer Program
We have sixteen 11th-grade students who have volunteered to be a part of our Rising Up program for peer coaching. The program is infused with student voice and has been designed to teach teens how to develop valuable life skills that will enhance their self-development and focus on inspiring students to build resiliency and find growth in adversity.
Students will be delivering lessons during homeroom to our 9th graders once a month.
Wednesday Homework Help
Bussing will not be available after this program on Wednesdays.
Homework Club - Tuesday & Thursday
Tuesdays: Math and English - 3:35pm - 4:30pm
Thursdays: Math & Science - 3:35pm - 4:30pm
Students need to sign up in the office by noon that day and they will have bus transportation home. There is no cost for this after-school program.
Attendance Policy
Dear Parents of Estacada High School,
This letter is to inform you of some important information regarding your child’s attendance. The Estacada High School day begins at 8:15 am. It is imperative that students arrive to school on time and get to classes in order to maximize their learning opportunities.
School Tardy Procedure and Policy:
If a student arrives late to school or late to a class, they need to go to the Attendance window and get a late slip by using the computer housed at that window.
If a student arrives more than ten minutes late to a class, they will be marked as Absent. An automatic call will go out to parents letting them know their child was marked absent.
When a student reaches 4-5 tardies, they will be given a lunch detention.
When they reach six or more, they will be given a Saturday School (8 am - 12 pm). Once that is served, they will start over again at zero.
Students who continue to arrive to school and class on time have the opportunity to receive a gift card from the Principal.
Absence Procedure:
When a student receives 16 absences from class periods, a letter will be sent home with a reminder about being in school in every class.
When a student receives 32 absences from class periods, a second letter will be sent with a reminder about being in school. At this time, you will also need to call and set up a meeting with the Vice-Principal to come up with a plan for your child in order for them to be in school with regular attendance.
If your child’s attendance does not improve, by law we are required to issue an Attendance Citation to show up in court on a certain date.
Student-Athletes:
If a student is playing a sport, they have to be in school all day and in every class period in order to practice or play that day unless there is a prearranged doctor or dentist appointment.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
In partnership,
Trevor Syring
Estacada HS Vice Principal
