Catching Fundamentals: Blocking Pitches
Catching tips and drills
In baseball, the catcher position is the most overlooked position, but the one of the most important other than the pitcher. Your job as a catcher is to keep everything in order and the game moving along. You are the conductor and the rest of your team is the instruments towards a win. You have to be aware of your surroundings and need to be in control at all times. Also as a catcher, you are involved in every play along with the pitcher. There is no such thing as taking a pitch off when you are catching. You need to be locked into the game as soon as you step into the dugout, ready for any possibility. The catcher may be overlooked, but they are very important and should be watched more often.
