Attacks

Digestive system.
Salmonella can cause typhoid fever.
Sources: Contaminated eggs, poultry, meat, unpasteurized milk or juice, cheese, contaminated raw fruits and vegetables, spices, and nuts. Also some reptiles.

Who is at risk

Anyone who eats contaminated food is at risk of getting salmonella. Also small children and elderly people or a sick person handling a reptile

Crime

Can cause diarrhea, fever, abdominal cramps and vomiting
Could die from dehydration.

Where to look

Any contaminated eggs, poultry, meat, unpasteurized milk or juice, cheese, contaminated raw fruits and vegetables, spices, and nuts

Armed and dangerous

A way to defend yourself would be to avoid eating high-risk foods, including raw or lightly cooked eggs, under cooked ground beef or poultry, and unpasteurized milk.
Most people only need fluids to recover in less than a week. Severe infections may require medical care including IV fluids and sometimes antibiotics.
