Connecting with Greenwood Elementary Families: March 3, 2023
Meet the Principal
We have had such an amazing week here at Greenwood Elementary. I wanted to take a moment to formally introduce myself to those of you who don't know me and say hello to those who knew me as the art teacher from 2013-2020. It brings me great joy to share that I am back at Greenwood, and I will be serving as your child's Principal.
Since leaving Greenwood in 2020, I spent the past two and a half years serving as the Elementary School Assistant Principal and Principal at Susquenita. I continue to make art, barefoot waterski, enjoy nature, and volunteer throughout the community.
I am very excited and honored to be back at Greenwood Elementary School and serving our students, families, and staff in this new capacity. I love this school and believe in the ability of our students to think, discover, make, and create incredible things. I promise to bring positivity and enthusiasm every day, as our team strives to make Greenwood Elementary the best place for students to learn and grow. I value family, school, and community relationships and look forward to partnering with you to build the foundation for your child's academic and lifelong success.
Enjoy the Day,

Author Visit Today we had a great visit from author and illustrator Ralph Masiello. He is best known for his "How to Draw Books" and has illustrated for other well-known authors. When he asked who liked to draw, almost every student raised their hand. Laughter and applause filled the LGI, as he shared his story ideas and drawings with our faculty and students. Our students were challenged to use their imagination and think creatively. I'm sure your children will be excited to tell you about the visit when they get home. *If you ordered autographed books, they will be coming home Monday. | Read Across America Spirit Week This week we have had a blast celebrating Read Across America with a spirit week. We've seen fuzzy slippers, tall striped hats, famous superheroes, and a whole lot of school spirit. The best part is, we're not finished yet! Next week students will get to hear each grade level's STEAM story, from a mystery reader, and show off their STEAM challenge projects for their school friends. Thank you to everyone who donated materials for our STEAM challenges and Maker Space. We can't wait to see what our students come up with! | ROAR on the BusWe can be Respectful on the bus by:
