A message from Ms. Lilly
RNE Newsletter September 01, 2016
The Principal's Office
It has been a very busy week at RNE! Our students have settled into a routine and are off to a great start! I hope you have been by to see our beautiful new landscaping! Our partnership with O'Neill landscaping is one that will truly grow.
Tomorrow, our teachers will be engaged in a full day of professional learning with Jen Jones with a focus on critical thinking. I am certain our students will see this learning in their classes next week!
If you are in town, please join me for Youth Night tomorrow at the Roswell High School football game. The parade of schools is such fun! Our very own RNE Bear will be there-will you?
Please enjoy the background picture submitted by one of our families. The sun is shinning brightly over RNE each day!
I hope your weekend is filled with family, football -Go Dawgs for me; War Eagle for Ms. In- and fun!
Best,
Maureen
RNE Fundraiser
- Get Your Orders and “Opt Outs” in by September 9th
Thanks to everyone who has submitted a Charleston Wrap order or made a donation. We are 25% of the way there. Our fundraising goal is $27,500 and these funds are critical. If we do not meet this goal, we will have to consider additional fundraising events or eliminate some of our enrichment programs. And the PTA and teachers have an exciting year of field trips, author visits and SEM enrichment activities planned. So, let’s rally!
Take a moment over the long weekend to:
Place an order with Charleston Wrap
Send emails to friends and family members, encourage them to place an order with Charleston Wrap
OR make a tax-deductible “opt-out” donation
Together, we can do this. Thank you for your support of RNE! If you have questions or need more info, email rnecharlestonwrap@gmail.com. Thank you!
A HUGE thanks to those that have already signed up for career day. We need a few more people to make this a successful event.
RNE Career Day Sign Up
We will have a career day for all 3rd-5th grade students on October 19th from 8-9am. In order to make this event a success I need volunteers to come speak about their job and what steps they took to get there. You will present for 10 minutes per class and rotate throughout the grade level. You do not need to have a student in 3rd -5th to volunteer. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Joy Fofana at fofana@fultonschools.org or you can sign up on the counseling website www.rnecounselors.weebly.com.
Digital Citizenship
What does this mean for RNE students?
All Roswell North students will participate in 5 lessons about using online resources in a safe and responsible manner. This is a district wide initiative and we believe all students, staff and families will find very worthwhile lessons and conversations going on.
Our lessons are from the Common Sense Media organization and are spread out appropriately for grades k - 5.
There are MANY articles and conversation starters on the website for parents and families.
