Ranches exsit in every continent except for Antartica . But the most proment places are the western parts of the United States (ex Great plains), the plains of Canada, and The Pampas regions of South America such as Brazil and Aregentina. It is common in dry places where there is a lot of room for animals to roam.
What Is Ranching
Ranching is a process of rasing cattle, sheep and any other animals that the region permits. To ranch the owner needs to have large amounts of land avaiable for the animals to graze. The Animals are rasied for meat and clothing.

Commerical Ranching
Ranchers never move, they simply have so much land they rotate it like as crops in fields are rotated giving the pastures time to redevlop. The Herds are not used for the ranchers families for food. They slaughter the animals, and sell the to either processing plants or or sell the animals to larger corperations. Ranching and heavy meat consumption becomes popular when a country is Devolped. Importance
In Devolped countries Ranching is the staple of meat consumption. The animals serve many other purposes besides food, Cows can be used for leather, the wool from the sheep can also be sold. Ranching creates a lot of jobs in small towns. Ranches usually need a lot of helping hands and vets are needed to care for the animals.
Enviromental Effects
Cattle farming accounts for 18 percent of the Greenhouse gases emitted. Deforestation is directlly linked to ranching, ranching accounts for 80% of deforestation. Transportation of the meat to processing plants also accounts for pollution.
