Cody Smith, Junior, 1st Place in NYS SkillsUSA Competition
Galway’s Cody Smith placed 1st in the Auto Vehicle Maintenance NYS SkillsUSA competition that was held April 22-24 in Syracuse.
More than 3,000 students from across the state attend and compete in the SkillsUSA competition. Cody has qualified for the national competition in Louisville, Ky., from June 22 to 26.
Great Job Cody! We are proud of you!
Molly Mancini, Senior, Named Amsterdam Family YMCA's 2015 Outstanding Senior
The Annual YMCA Outstanding Senior Student and Educator Awards Breakfast held on April 16th honored 20 seniors and 4 educators from area high schools (Amsterdam, Broadalbin-Perth,Galway and Fonda-Fultonville) for their outstanding achievements in academics, leadership, school involvement, community involvement and volunteerism.

Mr. Levin, Earth Science Teacher, Named NYS Master Teacher!
Congratulations to Mr. Paul Levin on being accepted as a Master Teacher under the Governor's statewide program!
The District will honor Mr. Levin at the May 14th Board of Education Work Session. The Board of Education Work Session begins at 6:30 PM in the High School Library and is open to all.

Our annual Spring reminder of the Galway CSD Dress Code:

All students are expected to give proper attention to personal cleanliness
and to dress appropriately for school and school functions. Students
and their parents have the primary responsibility for acceptable student
dress and appearance. A student’s dress, grooming and appearance, including hair style/color, jewelry, make-up and nails, shall:
Be safe, appropriate and not disrupt or interfere with the educational process.
Recognize that extremely brief garments such as tube tops, net tops, halter tops, spaghetti straps, plunging necklines (front and/orback) and see-through garments are not appropriate.
Ensure that underwear is completely covered with outer clothing.
Include footwear at all times. Footwear that is a safety hazard will not be allowed.
Not include the wearing of hats in the building except for medical or religious purpose.
Not include items that are vulgar, obscene, libelous or denigrate others on account of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
Not promote and/or endorse the use of alcohol, tobacco or illegal drugs and/or encourage other illegal or violent activities.
