MPES Connection

Message from Mrs. Mamon
REMINDER:
Virtual or hybrid student selection for semester 2 is due by
Monday, December 14, 2020.
The survey must be completed for ALL school-age children in your household.
Surveys must be completed by December 14. This deadline will allow time to plan for students' transportation needs and any needed classroom/teacher changes.
Please login to your PowerSchool Parent Portal account to complete the survey.
Quarter 2 Interims
Today marks the halfway point of the second quarter. This is when teachers typically send home an interim report so that parents can see how their child is progressing. This year, parents are encouraged to check their child's grades in the PowerSchool Parent/Student Portal. See below or click here for pictures of each step to access grades in PowerSchool. Please contact your child's teachers with any questions about how your child is progressing or a specific assignment.
Other Important Notes:
- Winter break is coming up soon! There will be no school for students and teachers from Monday, December 21 through Friday, January 1. Our regular remote learning schedule will resume on Monday, January 4.
- Is your student looking for some new books to read over the winter break? Remember that students can check out books from our MPES library and pick them up outside our main office! Details on how to do this are below in this newsletter.
Don't forget to send pictures of our students learning at home! I love seeing and sharing them in my weekly newsletters (see below). Snap a picture and send it to me at stacey.mamon@mpark.net.
Sincerely,
Stacey Mamon
Principal

Counselor Corner
Gratitude is when we express appreciation or thankfulness. Did you know that showing gratitude to others not only helps those around us feel loved, appreciated, respected and cared for but that it also helps you! There are so many benefits to expressing gratitude! Studies have shown that children who express gratitude experience other positive benefits including: a happier outlook, better sleep habits, an increase in resiliency, an increase in coping skills, higher self-esteem, and more! There are many gratitude activities online and below is a Gratitude Scavenger Hunt for you and your family to complete!
If you have any concerns about your student, please reach out to our school counselors, Ms. Rose (patricia.rose@mpark.net) and Ms. Rupert (makenzie.rupert@mpark.net). You can also fill out this Parent/Caregiver Referral to School Counselor form about your concerns.
