A message from our Home and School Organization
Gingerbread House Contest - Our December activity is a Gingerbread House contest! More details to come later, but this will be a contest based on raffle drawings from submissions rather than a judged contest. Start buying those gingerbread house kits now (or get creative with other ideas - poptarts, graham crackers, etc.) and be ready to submit pictures of your creations for fun prizes!!
Teacher/Staff Shout-Outs - Each month, Home & School will take the names of the teachers and staff members who received “shout-outs” and enter them in a drawing. The October winner was drawn Mrs. Zak was the winner! She received a goodie bag of some chocolates and a gift card to The Village Grind. Keep submitting the “shout-outs” to our lovely HC teachers and staff so they can both see how much we appreciate them and so that they can be entered in future drawings! Here is the link to submit the “shout-outs”: https://forms.gle/KhvwwetEpgWsa66CA
Market Day - Market Day is a program where you can order food items to be sent directly to your home and Hunt Club will receive 10% back of every purchase. How nice that you can receive quality meats and other items without having to go to the store! When you go to the website (https://www.marketdaylocal.com), register for Hunt Club Elementary.
AmazonSmile - With the holidays coming up, this is a great time to help Hunt Club receive a little bit of money back when you select Hunt Club Home and School Organization.

Amplify Science Update for Parents:
During the second and third trimesters, students will work on science at home during their independent work time. Classroom teachers will not be providing direct instruction for science as they will focus on the core curricular areas: reading/Social Studies, writing, and math. Each week, your child's teacher will provide links to Amplify Science @Home Videos for your child to watch during independent work time and on Wednesdays. Your child does not need to recreate any of the demonstrations as these are all done in the video; however, please feel free to use household items if you would like them to do so. Also, your child does not need a science investigation notebook to complete these videos at home. S/he can simply use a piece of paper or notebook to follow along with the videos.
Since direct instruction will not be taking place during the second and third trimesters, there will not be a science grade on the progress report. There will be no assignments or assessments as this is an independent study. We appreciate your understanding as we want our teachers to focus on the core curricular areas (reading/Social Studies, writing, and math) as we continue to move through our hybrid schedule of in-person and remote instruction.
If you have any questions, please reach out directly to your child's teacher or building administration.
Thank you!
