PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Our first few days back in school have been filled with excitement as students and teachers return to campus. Students have engaged in community building activities and discussions and have been encouraged to use the Community Values to guide decision making. We appreciated all that you are doing at home to support on time attendance and participation in the IHS school community. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to one of our amazing faculty members and we will do our best to support you and your student.
SCHOOL PICTURES
School Pictures are scheduled to occur on Sept. 14-15 during PE classes. Additional order forms are available in the main office as well as under the Parent Tab.
ON-TIME ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Our first class begins at 8 AM; please do all that you can to ensure that your student is present and on time for the 8AM class.
Daily attendance to school and to each scheduled period is important. We understand students may miss school days for several reasons. Please contact our Attendance Office (585-336-2919) each day that your student is absent.
We are returning to the use of our "Robo calls" to help communicate student absences. An automated phone call will occur, daily, close to 4 PM to notify you if your student was absent as well as indicate the periods for which they did not attend.
An additional text or email will generate after period 2. If you are the recipient of the earlier message, please contact the attendance office regarding the absence or reach out to your child to encourage attendance to classes.
HOMECOMING WEEK 2022
Homecoming Week is scheduled for the week of Sept. 19 (next week!) with the football game scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 24 at 3 PM vs. Greece Arcadia. Student Council meets each year to poll the student body and vote on the themes for each day. The votes are determined by student interest and a way for us to encourage and support student agency. This year's student selections include:
- Monday - PJ day
- Tuesday- Class Color Day (Seniors wear Red, Juniors wear Green, Sophomores wear Orange, Freshmen wear purple)
- Wednesday- Pink Out Day (wear as much pink as you can!)
- Thursday- Middle School Throwback Day
- Friday- Blue and Gold Day (wear school colors)
Thank you to our Student Council for organizing the themes for this year. Students are encouraged to show school spirit throughout the week!

SAFE SCHOOL HELPLINE
If you see something, say something!
Please encourage students to report any concerns to an adult at school in addition to sharing with you. If your child wishes to remain anonymous but should report a concern, encourage them to complete the Safe School Helpline form using the link below or through the app. Reporting with as many factual details as possible will help our administrators follow up with individuals in a timely manner. Thank you for continuing to support a positive school climate.
LOCKERS
Our special education teachers have been working with the main office to secure a set of lockers close to their classrooms. Students will be given their locker assignments on the first day of school.
