Athens

Sparta and Athens were both very strong city states in ancient Greece. Sparta, also known as the fierce one of the bunch, was known for its strong warriors and armies. Athens, on the other hand, was a wise city state that consisted of philosophers, artists, and sculptors. It was known for its magnificent buildings and statues, like the Parthenon, a temple for Athena. Both of these city states were famous, but one was greatest than the rest. Athens is the greatest city state because of its education, government, and innovations.

Conclusion

Athens is the greatest city state because of its education, government, and innovations. Athens was known for its wisdom and was also known as "The School of Greece." It was the first city state to create and use democracy. It had many useful innovations that are still around today and benefit the world. Even though Sparta was a great, fierce city state known for its armies and warriors, Athens was the greatest city state.
