Solo and Ensemble Festival is now less than one month away. The contest will be held on Saturday, February 24th at Hubble Middle School (3S600 Herrick Rd, Warrenville, IL 60555). We do not provide transportation to and from the school so please begin preparing arrangements for transportation.
Solo Times
Practicing for the Festival
If students are interested in practicing after school with me, I would be happy to help. Please let me know and we can schedule a time to make that happen. Beginning on Monday, February 12th, I will be available after school every day except for Tuesdays to practice with the students.
Piano Accompanists
You should have heard from your accompanist by now. If you have not, please get in touch with them to schedule some rehearsal time. Students who are using Mrs. Leonard can sign up to meet with her at least twice after school at the Junior High before the contest. She should be posting a sign up sheet soon.

Cabaret Night Raffle Tickets
On Saturday, February 17, the Lisle Junior High Jazz Bands and the Lisle Senior High Jazz Bands will perform an evening of Big Band jazz at our annual Cabaret Night. This is our program’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
To help raise funds, the students will receive a manila envelope of yellow raffle tickets in band today. These tickets are for the Cabaret Night Grand Raffle and we ask that they do their best to sell the entire stack of tickets. They should not go door to door- simply selling them to family and friends will suffice. There are some very cool prizes to be won in the grand raffle and you do not have to be present at Cabaret Night to win a prize. The big prizes are $300 cash, $400 to spend at Quinlan and Fabish, an overnight stay at the Lisle Hilton plus a brunch for two, and a backyard bundle including a fire pit, starter logs, and 2 bag chairs.
These tickets help raise funds for our band program for music, scholarships, clinics, and equipment. The raffle tickets are $1 each but can also be sold in bulk for discounts- 6 tickets for $5, 12 tickets for $10, for all 25 tickets for $20. When the students sell a ticket to someone, that person should write their name and phone number on the yellow ticket and return it to the student along with the payment. Students will turn in all sold and unsold tickets with payment by Wednesday, February 14th.
