ACT Testing Groups (Homerooms for 9th, 10th, 12th) on March 13th
On Monday, March 13th, ALL 11th grade students will report to their ACT testing groups from 9:05 - 9:45. ACT testing teachers will meet with students one final time before the test to cover the schedule for the day of the ACT (March 21st) and to help students be aware of how to approach a multiple choice test. An email will be sent to teachers that explains what to cover during this time.
All other students in grades 9, 10, and 12 will report to their homerooms during this time, and homeroom teachers will cover several items that would benefit them as they begin to think about their schedule for next year. A separate email will be sent to these teachers so that they know what to cover with their homerooms.
The schedule for the morning will be:
1st Block: 8:15 - 9:00
ACT Testing Groups/Homerooms (9th, 10th, 12th): 9:05 - 9:45
2nd Block: 9:50 - 10:40
If you have an 11th grade homeroom, but aren't an ACT testing teacher, you will be covering the homeroom of someone who does. If you are a math/science teacher that doesn't give the ACT, you will be relocated to a different classroom, but will be able to return for 2nd block.

Upcoming Book Genre Fair--March 30th
The Book Genre Fair is our annual Literacy project--please work with 1 class of your choice from this term (some of you have already done this with a T2 class) and incorporate reading, writing, research, or discussion into the study of your designated genre. Each department will be responsible for at least 1 display or interactive booth showcasing what our students have learned on March 30th.
We intend to have seniors tour the fair during 1st block, juniors visit during 2nd, and 9th/10th visit the fair through 4th block. This will leave 3rd block open for visitors from Oak Hill Elementary and 5th block for clean up.

Youth Mental Health First Aid
It is a requirement in our district that ALL staff must be trained in Youth Mental Health First Aid. The training will be provided on the iLearn days this year, located at Northern Middle and Southern Middle in their libraries. The training runs from 8:00 - 3:30 and will hold up to 36 people. If you haven't attended this training, please email Lori Price with the specific location (NMS or SMS) and the specific iLearn day (Day 1, Day 2, or Day 3, etc.) and carbon Ms. Ellis when you send it.
This is NOT the same training that we will have on our Growth Day during the afternoon. On our February 20th Growth Day, teachers will be trained on Trauma Informed Care (part 2).
