The Weekly Howl
St. Francis Catholic School - Friday, December 4th
Dear Families and Friends of SFCS,
We are now over a week away from Thanksgiving. Now is the time in which we are advised to keep a close eye on any symptoms arising if we travelled or attended a larger gather of family members or friends. I have attached below the document that provides good information as to what to do if you feel like your child or any family member is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. I applaud our entire community in cooperating with our guidelines and protective measures so far.
Please note that next week there will be a change in our regular schedule. The students and faculty will be attending Mass on Tuesday, December 8th in celebration of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. Students need to wear their mass uniform on Tuesday, not Wednesday. The school will run a Wednesday schedule on Tuesday and Tuesday schedule on Wednesday.
Mrs. Sweeney and a team of faculty members our busy planning our Drive Thru Advent Concert which will be help on Thursday, December 17th. Believe it or not it is less than two weeks away! Mrs. Sweeney is requesting that the students be dropped off in the school loop by 5:30pm so that we can get into place to start at 6:00pm sharp. Please dress your children in Christmas attire! They will be outside for over an hour, so watch the weather to see what temperature it will be. They will need to have their masks still. Pre-K and Kindergarten will be dressed for the manger scene. If you would please put them in leggings and a long sleeve shirt, we will do the rest. Please drop them off in the music room by 5:15pm. If you are interested in volunteering then please contact Mrs. Sweeney and Mrs. Markey. Any parent volunteer must have a completed background screening from the Diocese of Charleston. More information will be communicated as we get closer to this event.
I would like to thank Mrs. Drescher, Mrs. Pavlick and all the volunteers who have helped organize our FSA's 2nd Annual Reindeer Run. I also would like to thank the Salty Dog Cafe for sponsoring the event once again. Good luck to all our runners!
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely in Christ,
Brian Pope
Principal

Parish News and Info
- Link to 4:15 p.m. Streamed Mass for Saturday, December 5th.
- The Women of St. Francis find it necessary to delay our Advent Day of Reflection scheduled for Saturday, December 5th. Due to increase in COVID-19 infections and the vulnerability of most of our participants including our director of this session we plan on rescheduling at a later time, most likely for Lent. We know how important it is during this holy season to find more time for prayer and reflection and would like to suggest signing up for one or even all of these free Advent Daily Reflection opportunities: 1. Matthew Kelly from Dynamic Catholic for the Best Advent Ever at https://www.dynamiccatholic.com/best-advent-ever.html 2. A Daily Retreat with Chris Stefanick and Cardinal-elect Raniero Cantalamessa, preacher to the papal household for Saint Pope John Paul II, Pope Emeritus Benedict, and Pope Francis at https://coaching.reallifecatholic.com/unshakeable-joy-CV 3. Formed which if you have not already registered for this is on our parish website or at https://stfrancishhi.formed.org/
- Reservations for the 4:00 and 5:30 p.m. Christmas Eve Masses will be open on Monday after 11 a.m. You may either email Colleen Rzeczycki directly or you may go to our website and fill out the form located on the bottom of the page. If you are using the form, please be sure to fill out the entire thing including your name (I received many forms with no names. I cannot process your reservation without a name), click that you are NOT A ROBOT, and click the submit button. If you leave any of those steps out, I will not get your reservation.
- Please mark your calendars: On December 26th and January 2nd, we will not be having a 4:15 p.m. Mass. The streamed Mass will be on Sunday - 9:15 a.m.
- Please make a note: Beginning December 19th, the 4:15 p.m. and 9:15 a.m. Masses will be in the Gym until further notice. The Altar furniture will be moved over to the Gym for Christmas masses.
