SHARK TANK
Sheiko Elementary Weekly Parent Update 9-10-18
GREAT FIRST WEEK
- Press the buzzer that's located on the pole near the front door.
- Wait to be buzzed into the building
- Parents must enter the office through the door to the right and check in with one of the secretaries in the main office.
- You must sign in and wait to be allowed to enter into the main building. (if you are visiting or meeting with a teacher).
- An Important reminder... Parents are not allowed to walk students to their classes. We have a morning routine procedure for students to follow daily. This is a huge safety precaution that we need all parents to follow.
Morning and Afternoon Procedures for Students
2. Grade 5 report to the gym
By now, we should have the afternoon routines in place and the dismissal should run much smoother next week. We continue to ask parents in the car-pick up line to remember the following:
- Please refrain from using your cell phone when driving into and out of Sheiko. That time is very valuable and it's a great time to say words and help set your child up for a FANTASTIC school day, or at the end of the day, a time to find out how their day went.
- Any changes in your child's daily routine, please contact the office by 2:00 pm, that way we can ensure your child receives the message.
- Parents picking up, we ask that you are on time. If you are more than 10 minutes late, your child will be sent to Kids Klub in which you will incur a drop-in fee.
Upcoming Events
13th - Ribbon Cutting Ceremony/Curriculum Night
14th - Early Release - students leave at 11:27 (dismissal)
19th - NO SCHOOL
27th - FALL PICTURE DAY

Northwest Educational Assessment (NWEA)
Within the next few weeks, your child/ren will be engaged in the Northwest Educational Assessment (NEWA). Each student will be assessed in the area of Reading and Writing. All elementary students in West Bloomfield will be administered the NWEA test appropriate to their grade level. You will be provided information on your child's individual performance upon completion of the assessments. It is important for your child to be present on their scheduled testing date. Research data supports students testing with their peers perform better than taking make-ups alone. Please make sure your child is in attendance the entire day of scheduled testing. Below is link for additional information regarding NWEA testing along with testing dates for Sheiko:
