Moreno's Message
Superintendent Briefings
August 27, 2017
Dear La Vernia Community,
The devastation experienced from Hurricane Harvey, now Tropical Storm Harvey, has impacted our community and neighboring communities in various ways. I pray that everyone is safe and did not experience any harm to loved ones. The aftermath of this storm is what will need to be assessed.
Although it appears that we did not experience the worst part of this storm, our friends and school districts off of the coast did. It was reported to me that Aransas County ISD (ACISD) officials have been informed that they will be without power for 2-4 weeks. Let’s continue to pray for them, those directly impacted, and First Responders.
La Vernia ISD will make a concerted effort to do our part in supporting our friends in ACISD. We will be coordinating our energy to provide the support that they and others will need. Additional information will be sent out via our website, email, and Facebook to organize our pledge of support.
Sincerely,
Jose H. Moreno, Ed.D.
