Message from the Principal
Notes from Principal:
Although winter break is just short of the halfway mark of the school year, in many ways it feels like a natural opportunity to both reflect back and look forward. In my first year here at Barnes, there have been many things I have learned. First and foremost, our school has incredibly dedicated staff and parents for the students. We also have a great group of students who come to school with an innate curiosity and love for learning.
As we look forward, we are approaching the most sustained, uninterrupted learning time of the year. During the months of January through March, we see the students start to shift and grow significantly. The expectations in each grade level is increased along with the challenge of the material. Please support your children in this time by teaching them about persistence and perseverance. Challenge is important and needed for growth and it is our hope that students start seeing that effort creates ability. In other words, ability is not something that is static and will always remain the same. Ability is something that can be nurtured and improved with intention.
We hope you have a wonderful and restful break!
