JULY 2022 - New Palestine Music & Performing Arts

It's hard to believe that the summer is almost over! After a successful June camp we are now ready to begin preparing for Marching season!!

This week we begin our July camp. The next 2 weeks will be fun and exhausting! Again, remind your kids to wear supportive shoes and to drink lots of water! We will have more hot days this month and full day practices in Week 2. While the days will be long, these kids will make memories that will last forever!

PLEASE READ this entire newsletter!!! There are many important items for the next month including volunteer opportunities in multiple areas. Our program can only continue to be successful with the help of our volunteers so PLEASE VOLUNTEER!!!!

Meals For Band Camp: July 18-22

Band Camp for our marching kids is just around the corner and we need YOUR help! Please see the food and volunteer list below for each day beginning July 18th. Please have all food donations to the NPHS Cafeteria before 3pm. Volunteers, please arrive to the cafeteria at 3:30pm. We are estimating feeding 130 people each day so we appreciate all the food and extra hands it takes to do that. Thank you in advance for helping our kids be well fed all week!

Verizon 200 at The Brickyard

August brings another opportunity for parents and students to volunteer at the IMS Gift Shop! This is a great fundraising event for our program and your student's account so please consider volunteering!

PLEASE NOTE: We meet each morning as a group at the Band Barn at NPHS - located at the SW Corner of the Football Field, adjacent to the Southern Hancock Admin building. There we will hand out Parking Passes, Event Wristbands, and carpool as a group to IMS!

Snowie of Indy

On Friday July 22nd Snowie of Indy will be at the High School at the end of Marching Band Camp. All families are welcome to attend and enjoy a treat with their students!

Uniform Help Needed

We are still looking for parents to help with uniforms (assisting with fittings, polishing shoes, laundering, etc.). To be included in uniform communications, please text Susan Buchanan at 317-432-4064, preferably by 7/15.

Band Barn Clean Out and PROP Building

We are planning to have a "clean out" day at the barn, likely a Saturday in the near future. Once the barn is cleaned out and organized, the actual prop building will start. During the season, we will have weekly prop building sessions on Thursday evenings while all the kids are at rehearsal. Watch for more details to come.

We are needing a Concessions Coordinator for the upcoming school year. This individual will have lots of support. The intention of this role is not to be a gladiator volunteer, but to rather coordinate the operations of the concessions. With football/fall concessions on the horizon, this seat will play a vital role.
