Mrs. Walters' News
Brrrrrr.... it has been a chilly week! Please continue to send your students with lots of layers and bundle them up! We always go outside for recess unless the temperature drops below 0 degrees! You may want to swing by to check the lost and found before heading off fo rthe two week break next week.
Next week will be fun and festive in our building. With the holiday break coming up, snow on the ground, parties and treats- there will be no shortage of excitement. While some of our events include parents and families, some do not. Please tune in to your child's teacher newsletters to determine whether you can join in on the fun with your child! Also, please be mindful of our church neighbors when parking for parties. You are welcome to use the middle school lot adjacent to our building and walk down the service drive if parking is difficult.
Next Friday is an end of month celebration for our respectful, responsible, safe Bushnell bear classrooms. Children and staff will gather in our PJs to hear the classic Polar Express! I look forward to a cozy, comfy day together!
The Lowell 3rd annual coat drive was another huge success!!! Thank you for your generosity!
Our district totals this year were:
* 318 COATS (28 Brand New!!)
* 38 snow pants
* 15 pairs of boots
* and a 80 gallon bag full of mittens, scarves, gloves and brand new hats!!
Finally, we are currently undergoing Acadience literacy skill benchmarking. This is a test given 3 times during the year to monitor your child's progress on letters, sounds, blending and segmenting. I am eager to see all the growth that has occurred in just a few short months and will share our data soon!
