Principal's Bulletin
Week 15: December 6-10, 2021
A Message from Mrs. Zagala
We had a wonderful week of learning at school. It was so great to see all of our students back from their Thanksgiving break. The holidays are in full swing and we have a lot of fun things happening these next two weeks. Although there is a lot of fun, we still have a lot of hard work and learning to do. So we appreciate you sending your child to school every day on time and ready to learn!
Our PTA Holiday store is open next week, December 6-10th. Your child can shop at the store for some holiday gifts for family and loved ones. We thank you for supporting our PTA.
On Thursday we will also have our PTA Family Academic Night. We hope that you and your family will join us on December 9th from 6:00-7:30 PM. We will start the evening with a brief PTA meeting and then will continue with our Academic Night. Academic Night provides our families with learning activities that families can do together.

Northside ISD Seeks Parent Input
Faced with aging school infrastructures and much-needed updates and upgrades, NISD has begun the process of identifying facility and other capital needs in anticipation of a future potential school bond proposal.
The District is seeking the input of parents as a part of this process and is asking that each parent complete a brief online bond survey.
Parents will be required to sign in to the survey using their child's ID number (S-number) and student password.
If your child does not know their student ID number or student password, parents can find this information by logging into the Home Access Center (HAC) and clicking on the Registration tab at the top of the page.
The survey will remain active through Dec. 17 and can be found at: https://nisdsurvey.nisd.net/
School calendar amended to allow more teacher planning time
At this week’s Board meeting, Trustees approved changes to the District’s 2021-2022 school calendar to give teachers more planning time.
These five Teacher Planning Time/Student Early Dismissal Days are Jan. 26, Feb. 16, March 23, April 20, and May 18.
Elementary schools will dismiss at 11:45 a.m., middle schools at 12:40 p.m., and high schools at 1 p.m. Breakfast and sack lunches will be provided on these days. For families who need it, adult supervision will be available at all elementary schools, so students can remain on campus until the end of the normal school day. Learning Tree will also be available at traditional times.
