Dear RedHawk Families:

As we enter into Winter Break, I want to take a moment to thank you. Thank you for your ongoing support of all we do at Wredling. Thank you for encouraging your child to be kind to others. Thank you for coming to us in respectful ways when there are problems. Thank you for volunteering at one of our many events where we need parent help. Thank you for supporting our PTO in our fundraising efforts this fall.

But most of all, thank you for trusting us with your kids. We take your trust seriously and work hard, every single day, to do the best we can for our RedHawk students.

I also want to express my thanks for an amazing staff here at Wredling. I am blessed to have an incredibly dedicated group of teachers, teaching assistants, secretaries, custodians, and assistant principals who deeply care for your children.

Have a happy holiday!

Tim

ATTENDANCE FRIDAY, 12/20/19

Just a note that attendance information for today may look unusual. We had an assembly schedule today where we ran class periods out of order. As a result, students who arrived late to school were marked late to period 7. Students leaving early will potentially be marked absent in periods 1 and/or 2.

Thank you for bearing with us as we navigate the complicated beast known as attendance!

Have a wonderful Winter Break.

D303 VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers play an important part in our school community. Whether you help in a classroom, the office, with after school activities, or in another capacity, we appreciate you giving your time and talent to Wredling Middle School.

For the safety and security of our students, staff members, and other visitors, District 303 is now asking that anyone who regularly volunteers in our school or chaperones an overnight school trip follow a volunteer protocol. The protocol includes signing a volunteer liability form and completing a background check, including fingerprinting, through the Kane County Regional Office of Education.

The Regional Office of Education is located at 28 N. First Street in Geneva. Appointments can only be made online at www.kaneroe.org. To be fingerprinted and processed as a volunteer for District 303, the fee is $40. Checks may be made payable to the ROE.

Thank you for helping us keep our schools safe and your support of Wredling Middle School!

RE: ATTENDANCE

Students leaving the building during the day MUST be signed out by a Parent/Guardian at the security window. YOU MUST SHOW AN ID FOR US TO SCAN EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU COME PICK UP A STUDENT. There are times when a parent/guardian comes in, shows their ID BUT DOES NOT complete the sign-out sheet. We need accurate records in case of an emergency. Please help us out by ensuring the sign-out sheet is completed each time you pick up your student.

THANK YOU!

ATTENTION PARENTS:

Our PTO is collecting donations for the St. Charles Education Foundation "Beer is Cool" gift basket. Did you know that the Foundation's primary mission is to collect funds through various fundraising efforts during the year and use the proceeds to award grants to teachers and administrators? In 2018-19 The Foundation awarded 28 grants - a total of $29,678 to the district, $3,700 went directly to Wredling staff members.

We're looking for gift cards, tastings, cash, or beer items from some of your favorite local craft beer spots. If you are interested in contributing, please reach out to julie.l.zimmermann@gmail.com to make an arrangement for a drop off or pick up.

We Want Your Feedback

District 303 participates in the annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey that collects feedback from our students, teachers, and parents. Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will enable you to share your thoughts on important elements of school effectiveness. All responses are confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.

The Parent Survey is currently open and will remain so through February 14, 2020.

To take the survey, please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/ and select the

appropriate survey. Make sure you enter Kane County in the box for county even if

your home or your child’s school is in DuPage County. This will allow you to correctly

select your child’s school.
