Poland's flag
The current red over white flag design was adopted on February 9,1990. However the flag colors have been red and white since 1830, when it first declared independence from Russia.
Tatra mountains
The Tatra Mountains create a natural border between Poland and Slovakia, and are the highest mountain range in the Carpathian mountain range.
Facts about polands relationship to the EU and geography
Poland joined the EU in 2004 and was not a founding member. Before it joined the EU it was part of Russia (aka the USSR, soviet block). Poland was part of Russia until 1830, then got taken over by Russia 3 more times until it finally gained true independence in 1945. It's neighboring countries are, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Ukraine, and Germany.
Capital cities
The capital of Poland is Warsaw. Some other major countries are Szczecin, Cracow, Wroclaw, and Poznan.
Tourist attractions
Places people should visit are the Tatra mountians because they are the highest mountain range in the Carpathian mountians. Another place is the Warsaw uprising museum because you can learn all about the uprising.
Government
They have a republican government. They use Polish złoty (gold) as currency as they are not part of the EU
