What do we learn from Moses's story?

  • God still speaks to us today.
  • He likes when we talk to him too, so we must remember to pray so that we can listen to what he wants to tel us.
  • Sometimes God might call us to do things that we are scared to do, but always remember that God is always with us.

Memory Verse (Exodus 3:4b)

"The Lord calls from the burning bush, "Moses! Moses!" And Moses said, "Here I am"

Family Activity Guide

This month's activity guide revolves around compassion - caring enough to do something about someone else's need.

Be A Blessing - Good Deed for the Holidays - Video

We talked to children about doing a good deed for the holiday season. We will talk to them more about it. As we learning stories about all the blessings that we have in our lives we want the children to learn and understand that they in turn can be a blessing to others who are less fortunate. We talked to them about either donating toys, doing a shoe box, toy for tots or any such activity at home as a family and they receive a big sticker on their book for doing a good deed. They can do more than one if they would like too...Sharing a video of another operation Christmas child story.

Thank You Book or Gratitude Book

The idea is to encourage children to draw and write at least one thing they are thankful for during the week and share it every week with the class. Please encourage and remind them to bring it to class every week. They can decorate the outside of the book anyway they like with stickers or tape etc.

This concept is taken from the Hawn foundation started by Goldie Hawn. This is basically to remind children as they grow older about all the blessings they have in their life. America as a country is seeing children who start to get very stressed out and depressed as they grow older and these little things like the gratitude book remind them of the blessings they have in their life. So please encourage them to participate actively.
