Crusader Chronicle
December 2022
Dear Crusader Families,
During the 2021-2022 school year, data was collected from Parent Surveys, Staff Surveys, Parish Council, Finance Committee, and the Administration team. The data was evaluated and formulated into a 3 year Strategic Plan. Below you will find the 2022-2025 Strategic Plan. There are goals listed, as well as, objectives to reach those goals.
A hard copy of the Strategic Plan can be found inside your child's Interim envelope. The Strategic Plan will be placed on the school website for future reference as well. The school is very excited to share the data with you in preparation for the Crusader future!
If there are any questions, please contact the school office.
I pray everyone has a fun, safe, and relaxing Christmas + break.
Gratefully,
Sarah Bitzer

ADVENT RESOURCES
The Christmas tree, located in the Church gathering space, has ornaments that display the most needed items for ENLC’s Women’s Center Boutiques.
Women’s Center services include confidential consultation, pregnancy confirmation and verification, limited ultrasound, education, and material assistance. Of the six women’s Centers in the greater Dayton and Cincinnati Area, one is located here in Lebanon, serving moms, dads and children in our local community. Your Giving Tree donation specifically stocks the baby boutique. Clients receive incentives through an “Earn While You Learn” educational program. Families are able to gain education and knowledge while acquiring much needed items for their babies and young children.
Your support for this ministry allows us to continue saving babies and changing lives. Thank you!

ATHLETIC INFORMATION
Basketball Volunteers Needed
St Francis de Sales Basketball will be full swing this weekend with several GCCYS Boys & Girls "home" games being played up at the Lebanon District Event Center (a.k.a. the old Lebanon Jr High School gym).
As with previous years, we need volunteers to help fill positions at each game: gate fees, scoreboard operator, and official scorebook.
Below is a brief description of the positions:
Gate fees: In order to partially offset the rental & custodial fees, we collect gate fees from everyone except immediate SFDS family members. This can be filled by Jr High/High School students or parents needing volunteer/service hours. Please be there ~30 mins before game time to relieve the previous volunteer.
Scoreboard operator: An adult or High School student familiar with basketball would be preferred. No coaching permitted from the scoring desk.
Official scorebook: Must be an adult (no exceptions).
Please sign up in advance of the game so the coaches do not have to "recruit" immediately prior to the game and can focus on warm-ups & pre-game prep.
The link to sign up is listed below. Thank you in advance for your help and support!
PARENT RESOURCES
Christmas Fund- Extended until Monday, December 19
The St. Francis de Sales Parents are organizing a Staff Gift Fund and Father Gift Fund as a way to show appreciation for the staffs' dedication to our school community this Christmas, and to Fr. Craig and Fr. Bob, for all they do for our parish/school community.
Please consider giving a cash donation to the fund. Your contributions will be presented to each staff member, Fr. Craig, and Fr. Bob, in a Christmas card and will include the name of each participating family:
In appreciation for all you do for our children throughout the year,
Merry Christmas!
If you are interested in participating, please make your contribution online by using the St. Francis de Sales online payment system and scroll of the bottom of the page. There will be a spot for Teacher (Staff) Gift Fund and Father Gift Fund: Donation (eservicepayments.com)

If your password is typed incorrectly too many times, you will become locked out of your account. Please direct all questions regarding Vanco to the Parish Office- 513-932-2601).

Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO)
We have exciting news to share with you! If you pay Ohio income tax, you have the opportunity to pay less and support our St. Francis de Sales School at the same time!
The state of Ohio has a tax program called Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGO), which provides a tax credit to Ohio taxpayers (individual donors and pass-through organization) who donate to an SGO. If taxpayers donate to an approved SGO, they can receive a credit on their state income tax return for up to $750 per donor, or up to $1,500 if married and filing jointly.
The Archdiocese of Cincinnati has created an approved SGO through the Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) for all schools in the Archdiocese! The Archdiocese has also created a website for the SGO that allows donors to select St. Francis de Sales School and receive the tax credit while supporting our school at the same time.
If you are interested, you can “Donate Here” to make your donation.
When making your donation, please remember to select St. Francis de Sales-Lebanon.
We hope you will take advantage of this new Ohio Tax Credit. Your gifts to St. Francis de Sales School allow us to offer programs that inspire our students to know, to love, and to serve.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about this new tax credit. Thank you for your generosity.
