Corron Mission Statement

Corron is a safe, warm and inviting community where all are valued and empowered. We celebrate growth. Clear evidence highlights the impact we have academically, socially and emotionally.

From the Principal

Corron families:

Tomorrow our Corron students will continue some of our traditional Halloween activities that we have done over the years. They’ll play games, dress up, and do some crafts. Our amazing parent community has put together some treats so that each class can go “trick or treating” throughout the school (following our guidelines, of course). With all of the stress and anxiety about the current state of things in our area, this is our opportunity to let our kids be kids. We are so grateful for all of the donations and activities that were sent our way so that students at school and learning from home can enjoy this fun holiday. I know watching the students have fun will definitely be a ray of sunshine for all of the adults in our Corron community!

Have fun this weekend, and continue to stay safe!

Halloween

Just a reminder that we will be celebrating Halloween in the classrooms tomorrow. We are asking that all students wear their costumes to school (or to class for remote students). These need to be simple enough for students to function throughout the school day. Parents will not be allowed in the building at all, but we promise to share lots of pictures!

Dressing for the weather

This is the time of year where our weather can change significantly throughout the day. Please send your child to school with a jacket and appropriate clothing as they will be outside on most days for recess and P.E.

Veteran's Day Celebration

On Wednesday, November 11th, at 9:00 am, Corron Elementary School will participate in a virtual Veterans Day program to celebrate those individuals who have given so much for the freedom we enjoy. We need your help to prepare for this observance.

We would like to honor our Veteran family members who have served, or are serving in the armed forces, by assembling a video slideshow of photos of our community veterans. If you would like your Veteran family member(s) included in the video, please email 1 digital picture of your Veteran(s) to our LRC assistant: Karen.McVicar@d303.org. Please include what Branch of Service they are/were in, their rank {if possible}, and their relationship to our Corron student(s). Only digital photos sent by email will be accepted. Digital photos of Veterans are due by Friday, October 30, 2020, no exceptions. We cannot accommodate late entries this year because it takes time to assemble the video.

In addition, if you choose to send a picture of your Veteran(s), please keep in mind that this video presentation, along with the name of your student(s), will be shared as a link, in a digital video format, with our larger Corron community. Our receipt of your photos will be your agreement to have the information and picture shared. If you prefer that only your child’s first name and last initial are shared, please let us know and we will accommodate that request.

Thank you for supporting us in showing appreciation for those who have given so much for our freedom.
