Lincoln Middle School -- Weekend Update
Hello Lincoln Community,
Quarter 2 has started off without a hitch and it's always a good feeling to continue to move forward into the school year successfully. To view the Quarter 1 Report Card, please log into the PowerSchool Portal. Report Cards will be available for viewing starting on Friday, October 27. Reminder: report cards are not sent home except for the final report card in June.
Today was another "Fist-Bump Friday" with the Mount Prospect Police Department. District 57 families and employees are fortunate to be a part of a community that partners together to create a safe and welcoming culture for its youth and we are pleased to join the Mount Prospect Police Department's efforts to greet and connect with our students.
We look forward to seeing parents and guardians at Lincoln for conferences next week. Here are a few reminders about Parent/Teacher Conferences, on Wednesday, November 1:
- All visitors should enter through Door #1 (The main office door)
- Student "Lost and Found" will be displayed in the commons one last time before items are donated to charity.
Lastly, congratulations to our new basketball teams! We are proud to have these athletes represent Lincoln Middle School on the courts and we hope you have successful season!
In Partnership,
Eric Larson, Laena DiVito, and Jason Jonas

After School Athletics Spectators
Question: Can my child “hang out” after school?
Answer: Not really. Students may only stay after school, on school property, to participate in clubs, athletics, extra-curricular activities, or as assigned by a staff member. No student may remain after school unless he or she is supervised by a staff member. After-school help sessions must be arranged in advance with teachers.
Question: What if my child wants to attend sporting events after school as a spectator?
Answer: Students are welcome to attend Lincoln home athletic events. However, we can not provide supervision for students waiting to attend an athletic event, and students must leave school property after school and return later to attend a sporting event as a spectator. Generally, athletic competitions (i.e., basketball games) are scheduled to start at about 4 p.m. Students attending sporting events must remain in the gymnasium during the event.
Student Council Halloween Costume Contest
Student Council is hosting a Halloween Costume Contest on Tuesday, October 31st. Come to school decked out in your Halloween costume. Your costume must be school-appropriate--no masks, no weapons, and nothing bloody or violent. Your costume must not disrupt the learning environment. Your first-period teachers will vote on the best costume in their class, and then our administrators will pick the winners from the semi-finalists. There will be one winner per grade level. Winners will receive bragging rights, a mystery prize bag, a gift card, an awesome trophy, and their photo on the Student Council Wall of Fame.
Halloween Costume Guidelines
- Please refrain from wearing masks as part of your costume.
- Weapons or items resembling weapons are not permitted.
- Costumes featuring bloody, violent, and/or gory elements are not allowed.
- Halloween attire doesn't have to be a full costume. You can opt for orange and/or black clothing or show support by wearing a favorite sports team jersey.
- Any costume that causes disruptions in the learning environment will not be allowed.
PTO needs volunteers and donations!
Thank you for helping out as we coordinate treats for our teachers!
