From the Principal's Desk…

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is hard to believe that we are halfway into this term already.

I would like to congratulate Ruby C and Madison P who are our School Captains for 2023. I am sure they will be outstanding role models. We will be adding to the leadership team soon with our House and Curriculum Captains. There will be a special assembly towards the end of this term where we will present our new captains to the school community.

If you have an educationally based request for your child for next year, could you please write this in a letter addressed to me before Friday 18th November. As yet we have not allocated teachers to class levels, as there will be changes to staffing for next year.

Within the school year many people move house and so students change schools. So far this year we have had seventeen students start with us. If you are looking to move over the Christmas holiday period and your child/children will be enrolling elsewhere, could you please advise the office. Also, if you know of any families moving into our area, please encourage them to look at our school. Tours are available all the time, all that needs to be done is a quick phone call to the office to book.

Tea Towel Fundraiser – this is closing very shortly so don’t forget to order a tea towel or two, they do make great presents. I still have mine from my own children’s primary school, as does my mum.

Our Trivia Night with Queens Park Kinder is fast approaching – make sure you get a group of friends together and make up a table. It will be on Friday 11th November (Friday week). It is a great way to support the primary school and one of our local kinders. Thank you to the band of volunteers who are organising this event.

School Council are looking to run the canteen in 2023 and are looking for volunteers to assist us. We would like to develop our vegetable gardens and use the produce from these in some of our canteen food. If you would like to assist in anyway in 2023 please contact the office.

Don’t forget to save the date – Monday 12th December for our Christmas Concert. More information will be coming shortly about this.

2023 School Captains

Ruby C

Hello I'm Ruby, I am one of your new 2023 School captains. Being school captain really made my day, when I found out. I just want to start off by saying congratulations to all the students who were shortlisted. It is really amazing to make it that far, it takes a lot of confidence and courage to do that.

Now I'm going to tell you a little bit about myself. Five words that could describe me would be, funny, outgoing, smart, athletic and helpful. I'm also a part of two sports communities which are footy and acrobatics. I have been a part of this amazing school community since prep. I love this school and I always will.

Being a school captain has always been a dream of mine that l have aspired to since I joined HPS. Thank you to everyone who voted for me and Thank you Mrs Robertson-Smith and all the wonderful teachers for electing me for your 2023 School captain.

Madison P

Hi, my name is Madison and I am one of your school captains for 2023. I want to say a huge thank you to anyone who voted for me and good job to all of the people that gave it a go at the speeches. I appreciate it and I will try my best next year to make this school the best it can be. I’m hoping to make this school a better place for everyone. I’ve wanted this role since I was in Prep.

My favourite subjects are art and S.T.E.M. My hobbies are BMX and I’ve just started Inline Hockey. I also love horses and have 4 of my own. I love this school because the teachers are very helpful and encouraging and the students are nice and they help you with lots of things. I love all the beautiful scenery and I love the chickens. I am so happy to be one of your school captain’s for 2023. Thank you.

Come along with your gardening gloves and join Ella our sustainability officer along with other enthusiastic young gardeners and turn our gardens into wonderful food producing havens.
