Grade 4 Farewell #choosekind
Parents, I want to thank you for bringing your children to our school and trusting us with them everyday. You have a choice in where you sent your child, we are glad you chose St John XXIII. I especially want to thank you for raising such an amazing group of people that we celebrated on Wednesday. Parents being involved in their own child’s life leads them to more opportunities for success; this group that celebrated has shown so many positive qualities and we know this all starts at home.
This is a tough day for me as the grade 4 students here are extremely special to us. They took ME under their wing as soon as I came here last year and they made sure I was always taken care of. I know that as I have become older my “cool” factor has lowered but the grade 4 students never made me feel that way at all. They always encouraged me to join them and be a part of their day. From celebrating their beautiful art work in Mrs. Vukovic's class, to praying the Rosary in Mrs. Comartin's class, to playing games with Mrs. Earle's class and in Miss Carr's class, giving them lectures on being good human beings. These mattered to me - THANK YOU! I appreciated every moment that you invited me into your world.
They taught me that every single person in our school can be a leader. They never outright said this to me, but they never had to. They showed it in their actions everyday. The #CHOOSEkind wall and display that they had in to show all of the wonderful things that they did around the school not only inspired their peers, but it inspired staff as well. They take on roles without hesitation and make them AWESOME! They lead prayer, they promote healthy living and they spread JOY! Yes, they have hiccups along the way, we all do, that is the reality of us as humans.
Wherever the future leads them I will be watching and cheering them on. I am looking forward to updates on their lives and seeing where their education leads them. I want to make sure I say thank you for all that they have taught me in my first and second year as principal. If I can inspire others half as much as they have inspired me, I know I will have been successful.
Blessings and congratulations to our grade 4s! Always remember... "Courage. Kindness. Friendship. Character. These are the qualities that define us as human beings, and propel us, on occasion, to greatness." ~from Wonder, the book

Archbishop Richard Smith's Summer Message
Dear Friends,
In his message to students as they prepare for summer vacation, Archbishop Richard Smith encourages everyone to enjoy the outdoors and getting together with family and friends, but also reminds us that all of summer's good things come to us from God -- so don't forget to thank Him!

Celebrating St. John XXIII
Our dedicated Parent School Council Chair said it best. These are her words...
"I have no words to express my love of our SJXXIII family: from our teachers who put themselves on the line to get pied or soaked under a dunk bucket, to the parent volunteers (seen and unseen) who helped organize and run the bbq, to the teenagers from OLA who made popcorn all evening, to the parents who brought their families in uncertain weather and donated their twoonies to Valeda House. A most heartfelt thank you to you all. And most importantly, a humble thank you to our Father in Heaven, to Whom we prayed for good weather (or at least for good times tonight). We couldn’t have had the fun we did if the weather didn’t miraculously go around us.❤️❤️
I wish I had a chance to take some pictures, and there are so many moments that I wish I could see again."
Have a great weekend!
