Special Program

Evening Book Discussion and Dinner
Tuesday, February 27, 6 p.m., Harmony Library

Join us for a delicious dinner followed by a lively discussion of The New York Times bestseller, Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of Family and Culture in Crisis by J.D. Vance.

Children's Programs

Make It Take It Craft
February 1 through February 28, library hours, Glocester Manton Library
Age Level: Children ages 3 and up**
**Children under 5 years may need parental assistance.

Children ages 3 years and up are invited to "drop in" to the Children's Room during the month of February for fun Winter and Valentine crafts they can make and take home. Crafts will be available during library hours and will rotate on a bimonthly schedule.

Note: Registration is not necessary for this program.


Bee's World

Saturday, February 3, 11 a.m., Harmony Library

Age Level: Ages 5 years old and up

Buzz into the amazing world of bees! Lori Dobson of the Rhode Island Beekeepers Association will give children an introduction into the world of bees. Children will be able to examine wooden hive parts and a scale model of a full hive. Honey sticks will be given to children to enjoy!


Fun with Fondue: Cupcakes

Monday, February 12, 4:30 p.m., Glocester Manton Library

Age Level: Grades K-5

Children are invited to try their hand at fondue. We will be frosting our cupcakes using a fondue pot and then will add a variety of fun toppings.


Valentine Cookie Fun

Wednesday, February 14, 4:30 p.m., Harmony Library

Age Level: Grades K-5

Children are invited to show their creative talents using frosting and sprinkles. Each child will create his/her own cookie masterpieces for family and friends.


Air Hockey

Tuesday, February 20, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Harmony Library

Age Level: 5 years old and up

Enjoy a day off from school by dropping into the Harmony Library for a friendly game of air hockey. We will have the air hockey table set up so children can play against friends or parents.

Adult Programs

Beginner's Yoga for a Healthy Year
Monday, February 5 and February 12, 6:30 p.m., Harmony Library

If you would like to join the 36 million Americans doing yoga, sign up for this four-week series. The first class is free and have a $5 suggested donation for each subsequent class.


Cookbook Club
Tuesday, February 6, 6 p.m., Harmony Library (Note: The group meets Tuesday not Monday in February.)

Think Paris and romance for February’s Cookbook Club selection, Ina Garten’s Barefoot in Paris: Easy French Food You Can Make at Home. The club works this way: every month, pick up a copy of that month's cookbook selection at the Harmony Library. Choose a recipe to make and prepare it for the next month's meeting. We will sample each other's dishes and discuss our cooking experiences.


Tuesday Movie Matinee

Fearless Art Club

In February, the club will continue to explore the art of drawing in ink and adding color. All levels of experience are welcome. All materials will be provided.


Writers' Support Group

Read and share your personal projects at this monthly meeting. This adult group is open to writers in all genres.


Fermenting Vegetables

Tuesday, February 20, 6 p.m., Glocester Manton Library

Join us for a workshop with Kaylyn Keane from Lost Art Cultured Foods for a discussion on the history and benefits of fermenting vegetables and a demonstration on how easy it is to get started at home. There is a suggested donation of $5 for this program.

Crochet Group
Monday, February 26, 6:30 p.m., Harmony Library

Beginners and crocheters that are more advanced are invited to learn and share their experience in a comfortable room for crochet and conversation! Ashley Ledoux, an experienced crocheter, will teach beginners and be available for assistance and advice.

Need help creating our updating your resume? Attend this one-on-one workshop. Bring a written draft of your resume and a USB flash drive to save and/or print your resume.

Technology Tuesday - Computer Basics

Sign up for instruction in the basics of computer use, email, and Internet searching. If you want to work on Microsoft Office 2013 or 2016, including Word, PowerPoint, or basic Excel, let us know when you register.
