BECS Parent Newsletter
May 13, 2022
Dear Hawk Families:
We are so fortunate to have a week filled with great weather! We continue seeing the building buzzing with activity during this time of the year. Congratulations to the track team, boys volleyball, and girls soccer on a successful season!
We are also very proud of our BECS Cheerleaders who led a fantastic cheer camp for our elementary students. They demonstrated their leadership skills by coaching mini-workshops for our elementary participants!
While we continue to near the end of school, we are not done yet. Please continue to uphold routines and structures at home to support students during these final weeks of school. It is important for students to continue to complete their homework and in-class assignments to the best of their ability and on time. If you have a question regarding your child’s performance, please reach out to the teacher directly.
We understand that these final weeks also come with many emotions for students. This can come out in a variety of ways. We encourage you to stay connected with your child at home by asking about their day and assisting them with problem-solving challenges that may arise.
We continue to uphold the Hawk Way at BECS and appreciate your support in encouraging positive behaviors from your child.
Through our partnership, we know the end of the year will be fun and successful!
Have a great weekend!

Cheer Camp
The past three days our Cheer Team hosted a cheer clinic for grades K-5 (112 participants!!). Our BECS Cheerleaders showed amazing leadership and taught these students chants, cheers, a dance, and stunting! Their final day consists of a Cheer Showcase where they will perform what they have learned in front of their parents. It was a great event.
COVID Update
You are always welcome to check if there are any exposures to be aware of by checking the COVID link on the front page of the website. Here is the LINK
Edukits–Making life easier by ordering early!
Bromley East Charter School offers the EduKit program as a convenient option for busy families to order school supplies for the 2022/2023 year. EduKits include the supplies approved by our school. Your student’s order will be delivered to your home shortly before the start of school.
Last call for patches!
Stop by and pick up your patches so you can sew them on over the summer. This helps kids feel ready to go in the fall. Patch’s are $1 and will be added to your student's accounts as BECS does not take cash or checks.
Locker Clean Out
Please remind your students to start cleaning out their lockers of all unnecessary items. They will be given an opportunity to do a final wipe down and lock turn-in on May 20th for 8th Graders and May 25th for 6th and 7th Graders. All Middle School students need to turn in their original assigned lock or will be charged $10 for a replacement.
Lost and Found
Please ask your student to check for any items they may be missing. All items will be donated the last week of school.
Medication Pick Up
May 27th from 12:30 pm-3:30 pm Ms. Vanessa will be on site for you to pick up your student's medication before the building closes for the summer. Should you have any questions please reach out to Ms. Vanessa at vromero@bromleyeastcs.org
Parent Visitors/Volunteers
We are so happy to have our parents back in the building. If you are visiting the building during school hours for a classroom event or scheduled volunteer opportunity, please check into the main office and have your ID ready. All visitors must wear a visitor badge at all times. Visitors are expected to report to their scheduled area only. On your way out of the building, please stop by the main office to check out and return your visitor badge. This process allows us to keep the building safe by monitoring who is in the building.
As a reminder, ALL parent volunteers must have a completed volunteer packet on file to be eligible to volunteer within the school or for school events every year.
PTO for 22/23 School Year!
We can't host school-wide events with just a handful of us. We need people willing to contribute their ideas and skills. PTO is planning 3 large events next school year and is in search of volunteers. There are 3 heavy-hitting events; Fall Festival, Parent Gala, and Color Run which will each have their own committee. Each committee will decide each person's role, responsibilities, and when to meet. Please email Elizabeth Strobel for more information.
Questions or Concerns - Please contact us!
It is not uncommon this time of year for parents to have questions or concerns. We encourage parents/guardians to contact the school directly to resolve the issue with the person that could best help, starting with the teacher first. Our staff is happy to work collaboratively with you!
Student Fees
Please make sure you are checking your student’s fees here-WebStore. As we near the end of the school year all fees need to be paid online and in full. Should you have any questions regarding your student’s account please reach out to Sam French sfrench@bromleyeastcs.org or 720-685-3297
Fees should be paid online through our webstore by following the link below.
Summer Tutoring
Great news, parents! We are offering summer tutoring sessions based on the preferences of the teachers and families. Tutoring will be provided as an independent service between you and a Bromley staff member. Please see below for a description of what the tutoring entails and complete the Google Form if you are interested in having a Bromley staff member tutor one or more of your children.

Yearbook Delivery!
Online ordering for yearbooks has been shut down. We have only a few extra copies so if you have not purchased one please realize you may not get one at this point.
For the few extra copies we have there will be an advertised time to sell them for cash only. Keep an ear out for that date to come out soon.
Students will be receiving their yearbooks on May 20th to take home.
We encourage families to write their students’ names in yearbooks
Students can bring yearbooks the following week for signatures and must abide by classroom norms when signing is appropriate.
If you ordered a yearbook but did not receive it, please contact Josten’s directly.

Wow! Check out what is happening in 3rd grade…
Casasanta’s advanced readers engaged in a novel study of the BFG (big friendly giant) over the course of the second semester. This past week, they got to present their end-of-unit projects. Some of them included “dream jars”, “snozzcumber” snacks, and 20 questions true/false kahoots!
Students worked so hard on these projects and we're very excited to show off their hard work with the rest of the class!
