Parent Volunteer Organization
If you missed our information booth at open house last month, here's your chance to get involved!
Why join PVO? Your dues help fund incentive programs and fun events for students and staff members through out the year. It’s a fun way to make new friends and mingle with other parent volunteers while benefiting your child’s school. There is no minimum time commitment. You may volunteer as much or as little as you’d like.
When you register and pay the fee on SchoolPay, you will be included in the email invitation next month to attend our first virtual organizational meeting!
The deadline to join PVO is Friday, October 1st! The grade with the highest PVO membership percentage after October 1st will win a special Dress Down Day!
Please fill out the PVO registration link below:
PVO Membership Payment $25.00
SSCS Club Fees
Your child's club advisor will be sending out information regarding club fees that are due (if any.) Not all clubs have fees. Please contact the club advisor for all club fee related questions. Club fees are due NO LATER THAN MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH, 2021. Failure to pay your child's club fees may result in your child being unenrolled from their clubs.
SSCS Dress Code
While we wait on Risse Brothers to finish filling some of our uniform shirt orders, please be sure that your child is in correct dress code for pants, shorts, skirts, and shoes. We are seeing many students with no belts (kindergarten is exempt from the belt policy,) shorts that are too short, pants that are not acceptable, and shoes that do not follow the guidelines for what is written in the handbook.
In addition, extreme hairstyles are not permitted (examples: Mohawk cuts, hair coloring other than standard frosting or natural highlighting) and should not attract undue attention. Students are not permitted to have designs shaved into the hair.
Please review these areas in the handbook. Conduct points will be given to those who do not dress appropriately.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Birthdays and Shared Snacks
At this time, per SCPS, we are not allowing visitors on campus at this time.
If your student is celebrating a birthday, they may dress down and you may send in a special snack just for them.
We are not allowing any shared snacks at this time.
If/when this changes, we will send out an update.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Touchless Filtered Water Bottle Filling Stations
Stingray families,
Just a reminder, please make sure your student has a water bottle with them for refills during the day.
Disposable cups will not be provided (Paper cups will only provided if student forgets their bottle as a one time courtesy) as to help with the environment/accidental cross-contamination( if a student accidently drinks from his neighbor’s cup).
To continue to enhance safety for our school, SSCS has replaced all of our fountains with a touchless filtered water bottle refill feature.

- Students are dismissed from the cafeteria door, NOT the front desk. The only exception is you are having someone else pick up your student and they do not have your car tag. You must email Ms. J at stephanie.jaramillio@seminolescience.org and they must present ID.
- You may NOT come to front desk after 2pm (1pm on Wednesdays) to pick up your student unless prior arrangement has been made, i.e., a doctor's appointment (You must email Ms. J with notice).
- If you only have an elementary student, please use the inside lane (closest to the building lane). If you have both middle and elementary students, please use the outside lane (farther away from the building) until 3pm. (subject to change)
- If you are picking up a student who is currently in a club or tutoring, we asked that you please arrive around 3:20 (2:20 on Wednesdays) AND wait in the far outside line until 3:25 (2:25 on Wednesdays) OR park and then enter the carline at 3:25 (2:25 on Wednesdays) as to allow those parents picking up from the first dismissal to retrieve their students.
**If you have multiple students with varying club days, you may wait to pick up your students at the 2nd dismissal time. No need to make two trips.
- After 4:00(3:00pm on Wed) students will be in the after school care program. No staff member will be at the dismissal area. Please park your car and pick up your child from the cafeteria.

****DO NOT DOUBLE STACK CARLINE FROM WELDON ENTRANCE****
Please follow the below carline traffic map for when cars are supposed to stack (BLUE ARROWS ONLY). Please do not use the back side of the plaza next door- follow the blue lines to exit.
Otherwise, the lines are single stack. (RED AND BLACK)
If you are coming from the Sanford direction on 1792, please use the front entrance. If you are coming form the Casselberry direction from 1792, please use the Weldon Blvd entrance.
This will alleviate some of the congestion and we appreciate your patience during this first week of school.
The carline will close at 3:30 pm ( 2:30 Pm on Wednesdays) THIS WEEK ONLY.
If you arrive after those times, please park and knock on the cafeteria door.
With clubs now in session, there will be two separate dismissal times which will help alleviate the amount of waiting time in the afternoons. If you have more than one student with different club days, the other sibling may wait in the cafeteria. You do not need to make two separate trips.
