Ms. Damschroder's 3rd Grade
Week of May 25, 2015 and June 1, 2015
Get Ready for Summer!
Dear Students and Parents,
It has truly been a pleasure working with each and every one of you this year. I hope you have a wonderful summer. Below are some ideas to keep the children learning!
Ms. Damschroder
Get on sumdog.com or multiplication.com to practice multiplication facts. If you did not meet your goal to level W, I will let your 4th grade teachers know where you left off, so keep practicing!!
READ!!! The library offers great programs in the summer. I flyer is coming home today. Even if you don't participate in the library programs, you should read every day all summer. You can check out great books at the library! Scholastic.com has a book wizard you can use to find some books at your reading level.
Write stories and poems this summer. You can write more Mary Had a Little... poems or check out gigglepoetry.com for other poetry writing ideas. Be creative! Remember to write fictional narratives, personal narratives and persuasive opinion stories!
If you want to know more about local history, visit the McComb Public library or the Hancock County Historical Museum in Findlay.
Interested in science? Look up STEM challenge activities on-line. Most of the STEM challenge activities I have seen require just a few materials. I have seen activities for a marshmallow challenge, foil boats that hold pennies and design a catapult just to name a few.

Last Day of School June 3--Panther Picnic
The cafeteria will be closed on June 3. The Panther Picnic will be that day. Students may be signed out at 11:00 and then enjoy a picnic lunch on the football field. Students must bring a packed lunch that day (or parents may provide lunch when they come). Once students are signed out, they are free to go with their parent or adult. A NOTE MUST ACCOMPANY A CHILD BEING SIGNED OUT BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN THEIR PARENT OR GUARDIAN. Students will be signed out from their classrooms. If you have not done so already, please turn in permission slips as soon as possible. Thank you!
