Thornhill Elementary PFC Newsletter

Principal's Note...
Dear Thunderbird Families,
By the time you read this, we will officially be into spring. While the weather may feel a bit wintry, we are seeing hints of blossoms and leaves coming back on the trees. The rains have been great, depending on who you ask...Yet at school our kids wait anxiously to hear the announcement over the intercom whether it will be indoor or outdoor recess. Believe me, we sometimes hope the clouds would part just for recess, and sometimes it does. But, overall, the rains have been keeping us on our toes..
Just 10 weeks of school left! We certainly are in the home stretch here and I can't believe the year is flying by. Summer will be upon us. Did you know the first day of school will be August 13?
Cesar Chavez Day -- On March 30, we will have no school and start our spring recess. Cesar Chavez spoke for many when he organized marches and essentially fought for workers' rights. As you go into this spring recess, I hope you have the time to explore with your family the work of Cesar Chavez. Given the internet, there are a plethora of resources to continue this lesson at home. Here is a link to some info on Cesar Chavez.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and remember I am here for all of you if you need me. And more importantly, I am here for your kids!
Sincerely,
Mr. Daubenspeck
