This week we will be learning about Community Helpers. What is a community? Is our classroom a community? It certainly is. Our older children mentor our younger children. Our younger children learn that their contributions to our classroom are important. Every child is responsible for making good choices and helping to keep our classroom running smoothly. The children will explore their roles in our classroom community. Next we will look at the various roles of people in our neighborhood community and why all of these roles are important.
The Kindergarten children will begin working on their writing pieces for our Kindergarten Author's Tea which we will be hosting in our classroom at the end of May or early June. Details will follow.
Please keep in mind that Parent Teacher conferences will be held on May 6. Many of you have already signed up during Meet the Teacher night. I will send home reminders of the time you have signed up for. If you have not yet signed up, I will contact you to let you know of the open times.
