Weekly Announcements:

  • Interim assessment window opens this week. Only grades 3-6 this first time will assess. We will administer by the end of the week to have our results back for our data dig. Please assign your assessments but do not begin the test. we will provide accommodations for students. Please wait for more direction from Monica and I.
  • Digital Leadership Corp training is on Tuesday all day. Melanie, Tanaya, Arlette, Stephanie and Melody are out all day.
  • TAT Forms are outside Ms. Borquez' Office in her mail box. Please get and return completed forms there.
  • Reading Seed Tutors have begun tutoring students, they are housed in the SUN Room on Tuesday and Thursday's.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Teacher-Parent Conferences are October 27- October 30.

I will send you current forms when they become available.In preparation for conferences, please be thinking about the student work you'll share and the assessment data you'll present.If you have already begun student data folders, this is a great opportunity to feature those.

Upcoming Events

October Events! Kindness Month!!

October events are fun-filled! We will discuss them in detail at the staff meeting. Here they are in a nut shell!

October 1st- Literacy "Fall into Reading!" It's fall and literacy is our focus! We will have a literacy parade on the 31st to celebrate the number of books/chapters/minutes you read as a class. I will provide your poster and an example! You keep track with your students of how much you have read for the month! Students can wear a costume to highlight their favorite book character. Teams are highly encouraged to participate in the character dress-up!

October 9th- FIRST Data Dig! Your attendance is essential- please do not miss work!

October 12-16 Fall Break (Intersession available for students- we will call families of targeted students)

October 23- Fall Carnival

October 27-30- Parent-Teacher Conferences

October 30th- Literacy Parade

Additionally- a focus on Kindness will be highlighted by our Student Council! Spirit Week and activities to follow soon!
