March 14-18, 2016
Happy Daylight Savings Time!
A couple reminders of events coming up:
1) Tomorrow is the Math Carnival and Chicken Dinner from 5:30-7:00 in the gym, come hungry and ready to play some games :)
2) Wednesday is the Career Fair. We have had a couple of discussions about the different people coming to discuss their careers. Students have been given time to generate questions for these specific individuals. Some examples of the professionals joining us are: neurologists, chefs, artists, physical therapists, engineers, and the list goes on!
Math: We will continue our studies in fractions. Math packets this week will include some fraction work, but will also include review of concepts that your children have previously studied. It is important to practice old concepts while learning new ones!
Social Studies: We will continue the introduction of our studies in the Cherokee culture and their impacts within Western North Carolina. As for now, we are just getting to know this specific Native American tribe and their traditional ways of life, mainly through literature.
English Language Arts: We will be continuing our practice in reading passages, specifically reading informational text. We will put our CAFE wall and strategies to use during this time! (Comprehension, Accuracy, Fluency, Expanded Vocabulary)
*Don't forget to help your students get their reading logs filled out and turned in!
We are in need of more tissues, the kids have been going through them quickly with all of this sickness going around! If you can help donate some, that would be wonderful, please email me if you can!
Thanks everyone, you are much appreciated!
