Muscular and Skeletal Systems
What are the parts and functions?
Shape
Bones give the human body shape and structure. We'd be a blob of soft tissue without them.
Protection
Some bones protect vital organs such as the brain, heart, lungs and spinal cord.
Movement
Muscles move bones and are attached to bones by tendons. When a muscle contracts, or shortens, it causes the bone to move.
