The World is our Family!

Welcome to the 22-23 School Year!

Hello Comet Nation!

As I begin this year as CIS' interim principal, I would like to say thank you for all of those who have sent emails or have called with support. It has been my pleasure to serve the families of CIS for the last ten years, and I am excited to see what our Comets will accomplish this year!. If at any time you need to contact me, I can be reached with an email to You can also call or text me at 980-433-9808.

A HUGE "well done" to the students who were in attendance every day last week. Regular school attendance helps students to achieve academic excellence. If your child must be absent, please send a note or email to your child's homeroom teacher.

Thank you all for your patience as we have gotten Silent Dismissal cards out to all of our families. If you are still in need of a car tag, contact your child's homeroom teacher and one will be sent home as soon as possible. Dismissal will begin at 3:30 each day. Our goal is to have all students dismissed by 4:00. Contact your child's teacher if you will be later than 4:00.

The students have been off to a great start in wearing their uniforms. The uniform policies can be found below.

I am looking for parents who are willing to help us host a book fair this fall. If you have any experience with book fairs or who are willing to learn, send me an email.

Lastly, the calendar of events for the month are also listed below. For specific events for your child's classrooms, reach out to their homeroom teacher.

In Service,

Mrs. Sarah P. Grafton
